Before you experience the beauty of Siargao Island, take note of all the important travel advisories and guidelines listed below to keep both tourists and locals safe.

Quarantine Category

  • GCQ - general community quarantine (Alert Level 4)

Movement Guidelines

  • Siargao is open for tourists coming from GCQ (general community quarantine) and modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) areas.

Guidelines Specific to Siargao Island

Allowed Tourist / Age Restriction

  • Siargao accepts all domestic tourists coming from outside the region (except those coming from areas with travel restrictions).
  • The following individuals are now allowed to travel to Siargao on a point-to-point basis from areas under GCQ or MGCQ: those below 18 years of age; fully vaccinated individuals above 65 yrs of age; fully vaccinated individuals with comorbidities and other health issues; and fully vaccinated pregnant women.

Document requirements:

Tourists invited by local resident:

  • Vaccinated tourists may now present their COVID-19 vaccination certificate issued by the Department of Health or COVID-19 domestic vaccination card issued by a legitimate vaccinating establishment. A negative RT-PCR test result is no longer needed.
  • Vaccine-free tourists, meanwhile, still have to submit a negative nasopharyngeal or saliva RT-PCR test result taken within forty-eight (48) hours or two (2) days from the date of release of result.
  • Valid identification card with address
  • Travel Certification issued by the Mayor of destination stating you're a tourist invited by a local
  • S-PaSS

Tourists not invited by local resident (Walk-in tourist):

  • Vaccinated tourists may now present their COVID-19 vaccination certificate issued by the Department of Health or COVID-19 domestic vaccination card issued by a legitimate vaccinating establishment. A negative RT-PCR test result is no longer needed.
  • Vaccine-free tourists, meanwhile, still have to submit a negative nasopharyngeal or saliva RT-PCR test result taken within forty-eight (48) hours or two (2) days from the date of release of result.
  • Valid identification card with address
  • Confirmed booking accommodation for at least two (2) nights from the resort, hotel, or hostel duly accredited by the Department of Tourism
  • S-PaSS

Port Entry Guidelines:

  • The documentary requirements shall also be presented by the passengers upon arrival. Those who cannot present all of the requirements shall be deported back to the place of origin at the returning flight of the same aircraft on the same day at the cost of the concerned passenger and/or the concerned airline company.
  • All arriving passengers shall be transported only by public utility vehicles duly accredited by the task force of the LGU, in case of use of private vehicles, it is needed to obtain clearance from the task force.

Allowed Activities

  • Non-contact activities are allowed provided that the minimum public health standards such as wearing of face masks, observance of social distancing protocols, and no sharing of equipment.
